Again I should point out that the correlation between brain size and IQ is not nearly as close as the correlation between brain size and GRE scores, as evidenced by the following r-squared for brain size correlated with:

The poor correlation between brain size and both IAEP and NAEP scores I attribute to gender-mandering by the US Department of "Education", and the good correlation with TIMSS math and science I attribute to a foreign agency sans this race mixing and gender-mandering agenda. And the good correlation with GRE quantitative scores I attribute to their remaining fairly neutral and objective in spite of the effort by feminazis to change it all or even shut them down.

What does this mean?  That the gender gap in the most important attributes to a society or an economy is at least one standard deviation, and the gender gap in wages, even for teachers, is TWO standard deviations.

Within each race, this would be the equivalent of a 15 to 30 point gap in IQ, not 5.

Correlation between brain size and intelligence increases from GRE Analytical at r-squared = 0.57, to IAEP Math and GRE Verbal scores at r-squared = 0.58, to TIMSS Math a 0.71, to TIMSS Science at 0.81, to GRE Quantitative at 0.88, to annual earnings at 0.95.

The simple explanation would be that as a test focuses more on intellectual skills and less on memorization questions, it more closely mimicks a real test of intelligence, and thus correlates more closely with brain capacity.  Nobody denies that the bigger a muscle is, the stronger it is, or that the bigger a microcomputer is the more it can process, so why would we deny that the bigger a brain is, the more capacity it has for intellectual challenges and computations?

following article fails to report the standard deviation of the number of brain cells for each sex, but if it is equivalent with things like Olympics scores, then the standard deviation for men is 0.43% and for women is 0.75%.   This would mean that two thirds of men have between 22.7 to 22.9 billion brain cells and two thirds of women have between 19.2 to 19.4 billion brain cells.

COPENHAGEN (July 28, 1997 10:04 a.m. EDT) - Men have 16 percent more brain cells than women, but the extra gray matter does not make them any smarter, Danish researchers report.

Neurologists Bente Pakkenberg of Kommunehospitalet and Hans Joergen Gundersen of Aarhus University analyzed the brains of 94 Danes who died between the ages of 20 and 90.

Their final tally, reported in the Journal of Comparative Neurology, was that men have an average of 22.8 billion brain cells, compared to 19.3 billion for women.

"We were surprised by the difference," Pakkenberg told AFP. "We did not think it was so big, even though men's brains weigh more." That disparity is 150 grams, she said.

The research team used a technique that analyzed the brain layer by layer and gave a more accurate cell count, she said.

But Pakkenberg insisted the difference in cell number does not show up in tests measuring male and female intelligence.

"In these tests it is possible that men are better at some things than women, but in general they are not more intelligent," she said.
